position of my new bathroom heator ?

Just out of interest, how will the LABC 'catch him out'? Obviously the work has to comply with the regs to be done safely, but with regards to notifying the LABC how would they ever find out? Has anyone ever been prosecuted by the LABC for not notifying apart from when the work has not complied...

@Taylortwocities - Sorry mate may not have made it clear, but as the subject says, its a direct cylinder so no boiler involved, heated straight from the immersions! I am intrigued as to what these mandatory interlocks are though? As mentioned not bought the thing yet so any info is greatly...

Help with wiring a MAIN unvented 170 direct cylinder

The plumber is installing the tank, just needed to know what the two elements were for, for the electrical side of things. Thanks again.

Cheers chaps, think I am going to have to bite the bullet and crack the bottom row of tiles, seems like the best option. Spoken to supplier and they will replace the tiles at cost price so not all bad I guess. Thanks again.

    Working from home, energy tariffs.

Having a business/domestic property means you will have to pay domestic council tax, and also business council tax, although there are some exceptions. You are then also meant to work out a percentage of what your usage is for business and a percentage for domestic. As geraint said, you can get...

    Working from home, energy tariffs.

Hello mate, This info might be usefull. The misses runs a salon in our home, and although we have a meter for both the salon and the house, we only have one NPAN number so both are supplied via BG business tariffs. They are by no means cheaper and we have to pay a standing charge on both...

Thought I would add my piece, just to hopefully put your mind to rest more then anything else. Schedules of Inspections. Clarity

It might be worth reading Part 2 of BS7671. I wouldn't say the 'pigtails' are cpc's - definition: 'A protective conductor connecting exposed conductive parts of equipment to the MET'. The 'pigtails' do not directly link these parts to the MET. Instead I would say they are a 'Bonding Conductor'...

Advice on maximum demand and diversity on a domestic

@ricicle - when I say straight forward, installing a plant where you know exactly what the most is going to be that is running at one point, thats abit easier then guessing what one, two, three or four people are planning on doing at certain times in there daily routines. Or the numerous...
