What position should it be in with the hot water and heating OFF?

Oh yes the paddle still moves but with resistance.

I just put in on MAN OPEN before switching heating on and the lever jumps to halfway. When i put Hot water on you can't move lever at all.

well basically i get hot water when heating is on. and when water is on, heating comes on too.

If i push it over to manual, which is very easy. How will this effect the way my heating works. Will the hot water come on still? Will the heating come on still?

Is there any chance somebody could tell me what position the Honeywell 3 port valve should be in when heating is turned on. I have one side saying MAN OPEN and the othere side saying AUTO. It is a gravity fed heating system.

Right i did another test. Moved switch to MAN OPEN positon on 3 ort Honeywell valve, then turned heating on and the swithch moved to the centre position. I turned it back off and it stayed in the centre position.

right before i put heating on it wa in the auto position. When i turned it off it was still in auto position. Now i am confused.com

sorry i am a bit thick to this. Does the valve motor? What does that mean? Sorry for my thickness. I'm very new to all this and i do want to try and understand. Thanks for your feedback so far

It's a honeywell 3 port. What position should it be in to correct this?

Is this on the boiler itself or by the hot water tank?

Sorry to keep on. But could this cause problems with heating the house? Will i still get fully function from both hot water and heating?

Will this cause problems if it isn't fixed? Is it something i could do myself?

I think i may have problems with my boiler. It has started to become noisy. When the hot water is turned on, the heating gets hot gets hot aswell as the water and when the heating is turned on the hot water gets hot aswell as the heating getting hot. Should this be happening? I thought if you...
