Paint flaking off rendering & damp in cavity wall - help

Can't add much apart from the use of stabiliser. If the surface was sound and not dusty and you apply stabiliser this will be like painting on glass and is a common cause of flaking/ bubbling masonry paint.. though i would'nt think it would blow render. regards john

    Polyvine Decorators Varnish (paint protection)

yes matt is the best. Regarding cleaning; I forgot to write ; If you get a damp rag and just apply a little 'ciff' and very gently wipe over the finger mark taking care not to rub hard or u wil buff the paint and it will shine. sometimes works.

    Polyvine Decorators Varnish (paint protection)

polvine good stuff but pricey. the matt will still give a very slight sheen. may be better to just keep some of the paint and touch up. The matt emulsions usually touch up well. Or go for a soft sheen? The expensive dulux diamond (allegedly) matt paint has quite a shine. I find soft sheen...
