I have built-in wardrobes in mdf which are white with a pink groove. As I want to change the colour scheme in the bedroom I need to get rid of the pink. Any ideas? Do you think painting over it would work, though my hand might not be steady enough? What type of paint should I use? Any help would be more than welcome.

you can get mdf melamine paint but my experience of it is its not very good without a good primer as tends to come off quite easy if its knocked.
If its just Mdf then you could use an emulsion or a gloss but if its got a melamine coating then you may struggle for them to key properly so the melamine paint would need to be used with a good primer

I think your asking; can I paint pink bits white the same as surrounding white?
Tricky to find a shade of white to blend with surround. But spose you did find white satinwood blends, then just paint into the grooves and carefully wipe any excess paint off the surround with a white spirit soaked rag or, damp'nd with water if using waterbased.

Satinwood, gloss will take ontop of the pre painted mdf, A light rub down and one/ two coats of satinwood (satinwood is coat on coat no undercoat required on primed surface)

goood luck

to be honest i`ve built my own but eggshell does tend to mark very easy. it needs to be protected with something like diamond glaze etc . or use gloss.
