    I have just tiled 3 walls in my kitchen with travertine natural tiles. I want to seale them so no food splashes or water stains the tiles, however do you seale the tiles before grouting or after grouting? Thanks

    tiling onto wood

    Is it ok to apply travertine wall tiles directly onto mdf sheet timber? The reason for this is because i need to bring the tiles off the wall 10mm as the splash back is 20mm thick and the tiles that i am using are only 10mm so i need to make up that extra 10mm if that makes sense? Thanks

    Earthing

    Yeah sorry guys its a kitchen sink/pipework i was refering to. I replaced a dp front and when i removed the old one i noticed a 1.5mm earth cable screwed in on its own in the metal back box. I traced the cable and it lead to the kitchen pipework. Is it needed?

    Yep understood. All that i was planning on doing was chasing the routes and installing the cables to make it easier for the sparky whilst i was off work. All final connections would be done by a qualified electrician. As long as the routes etc are ok. Thanks for advice

    Banging pipes

    Yeah i tried that but then i loose pressure upstairs in the bathroom. If i have the shower running and then flush the toilet the shower pressure drops to a trickle until the toilet cistern re-fills. Until i turned off the water i never had this problem.
