Does anyone have any tips on cutting a kitchen worktop so that it does not splinter or damage the finished surface, i was intending on using a circular saw. The surface is a matt finish and not laminated. Also, what jig saw blade is recommended to cut out hole for sink and hob again without splinting or damage the finished surface?

Thanks

turn the worktop the other way up and use a circular saw.

do a trial run away from the intended cut.

if it cuts clean, hey presto!

if not, :( , then the other guys will let you know of the proper way shortly...........

You can use a router to clean up a cut clamp a strip of wood away from the edge so that the router base runs along it and the deep cutter takes a shallow cut 0.5 inch router and new straight cutter required ,setup critical but a nice cut.
