    No Picture/Video on my Laptop.

Ok, so for a few weeks, my laptop would load up and the screen would be split in three. First third would be normal, second third would be black and final third would be white. Three thick stripes down my screen. Normal/Black/White. I was told that my video cable was probably loose. So, I...

    What paint for OSB ?

An oil based undercoat might be a temporary solution. But I'd recommend using an anti mould primer or even additive. However, as with all mould issues, testing it is the best way of solving it. It is also worth knowing that mould cannot survive well in a room with a dehumidifier. So even a...

Cylinder, coil pack or ignition cables?

I've a 01 Cordoba, same size engine as yours and had a similar issue about 4 months ago. Had coil pack and leads tested, then spark plugs and nada. Turned out to be dirty injector. Simply using redex additive in the fuel was enough to solve the problem and turn out the engine light. You might be...

    Painting

Should be dry in a few hours. You'll know yourself when it is ready. Very light sanding in between all coats of paint should also help it stick better. Good luck!

    Painting

It is difficult to tell for sure by looking at a photo, but my advice would be to sand down so that it's smooth, particularly on the edges where it meets the raw plaster, mist coat the raw plaster, skim any areas where it's particularly rough, sand the filling down, touch the filling with matt...

Toshiba C50 windows 8 updating but stuck

Basically its a new laptop. Windows 8 OS. Installed updates, configures, tells e not to turn it off, then says updates 100% complete and do not turn off computer, and it just stays there and doesn't do anything. Stuck like that now for 45 minutes...... What should I do?

    Painting

I wouldn't sand it down to the plaster. I'd just sand it smooth. I'd mist coast any raw plaster before doing any of the skim filling. That easily stripping wall looks like it wasn't mist coated at all, or certainly wasn't given a light sanding in between coats, and if that all comes off then...

Hammerite do a high heat paint if you can't find a fireplace paint.

    Painting

If it isn't coming off easily and if it is frustrating and time consuming, then I would sand it all down, clean any dust away, fill wherever is rough with a skim of fillers, sand it smooth touch up any filling with matt emulsion. Maybe give a thin first coat to the full wall and then paint it as...

    wooden worktop joining strips?

Might be the wrong place for this but considering it's woodwork, I'll try to put this here. (mods: feel free to move the thread) Basically, this is a wooden worktop/kitchen counter. Made from 2 pieces of the Ikea wooden worktops. The meet to form an L shape. However, the only options to put a...

    MOT and NCT fail refusals

Ok Thanks Mursal. Is it expensive to have it patched by a body shop for something that is about the size of a €2 coin?

    MOT and NCT fail refusals

Mursal, what if he lets the recheck date pass by, and in the meantime fills and paints up and then just sends the car through the full test again? Might that work? ;)

    MOT and NCT fail refusals

Looks sharp. Maybe that's the prob? It's just above the wheel. A bit pixelated as it's from a cr@p phone!! Sorry! :)

    MOT and NCT fail refusals

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the situation is in relation to rust on the car exterior? My brother failed his car test because there was a very small hole in one of the car wings. The hole was rusted. He was told it was a visual fail refusal and that he should get it...

Hi all! :) Just wanted to report back, since I just had the repairs done. 2 Seals and timing belt kit replaced. Cam belt replaced also. Car feels and sounds better now. Check engine light has just come on but I'm going to have the code read now shortly. This morning the car was jerky enough...

Damp patches in/around pollyfilla in wall

That may very well work. But PVA or some anti damp anti fungal prime would have a better chance.
