How do I drain down system with these values

I did close down the rad value, but as started removing the square plug water started coming out with prettt decent force, so close up again. Is that normal and I just have to quickly get the hose onto it? Seems a bit of a silly design surely?

Can light switch for kitchen be in hallway outside?

Hi all, Re-jigging kitchen and decided best place to put fridge freezer in the corner as you walk through the door on the left. However the light switch is also there on the left and so means I would have to leave enough space so it can be switched on. Which would waste space in an already...

    Why just one switch

Right hand side is cold, has an isolator, so you can turn that one off. Hot water on left you will have to isolate from hot water cylinder. Once both isolated, double check with tap then you are good to swap over.

Solder or compression fitting on mains stop cock?

Great thanks. Also come across this 22mm to 3/4" solder fitting. Not worth the risk with the pipe freezing kit? https://www.screwfix.com/p/solder-ring-adapting-couplers-22mm-x-2-pack/74038

Solder or compression fitting on mains stop cock?

Starting to make sense now. Was wondering why a compression fitting was being used further along the pipe work. Measured either side of the fitting, one side is 70mm and other is 66, so looks like compression will be the way to go. Unless there are other soldered options?

Solder or compression fitting on mains stop cock?

Ok, so I measured a standard 22mm pipe and got 70mm which gives 22.28. Measured the incoming mains and got 66mm! Which gives 21! Looking at the pipe you'd think its a standard 22mm!. So glad I asked and you replied as if I had cut it the pushfit wouldnt have worked and with no way to isolate...
