i'm installing 240v Fireguard 9w Energy Saving Downlights and want to know if I need firehoods in a single storey extension with roof space and insulation. Are metal fireboxes or firehoods more appropriate? Any one know of a good supplier at a reasonable price?

If I put 10 240v 7w cfl down lights in a new kitchen extension, do I need to split the power to each of them or connect one to the other in parallel. I'm just worried about any loss to the ones towards the end.
