Thanks John, so hopefully my saw has a bore of 16 so a similar 184mm blade with a 16 bore will fit?

    Frustrated with cuts!

Hand tools? I remember the bench hook and tenon saw in school. (40yrs ago!) I would like nothing more than to be competent with hand tools but at my age it ain't gonna happen. It's more about making life easy. But having said that. I wonder if a bench hook and a good tenon saw would help me get...

Foxhole, I'm beginning to realise that. Could be expensive getting it right.

    circular saw blades.

Hi, I have a dewalt circular saw with a 185mm blade. I would like a finer toothed blade. Do I have to buy dewalt or will 185mm blades from other makers also fit?

    Frustrated with cuts!

Thanks guys. Using a guide on the jigsaw I do get quite a good cut. I'm just playing around with pine at the moment but I am planning on using real wood. I bought a circular saw first as I thought it might be the more useful saw. I didn't get a chop saw first as I thought it would only be good...

    Frustrated with cuts!

Hi all. I've been getting a little frustrated with attempts at cutting with a circular saw. Ripping ply boards has been fine. But I've been trying to cut 8x1's and my edges have just not been straight or square which is a pain when doing something simple like shelving units. I'm getting a better...

    oak or oak stain?

Cheers Foxhole. My wife picked up some wood for me today from TP and I asked her to ask how much the Oak veneer mdf was. The same as you have shown in the link you sent. The guy said they didn't have any. So perhaps you have to order it? Either way I still didn't get a price!

    oak or oak stain?

Hi Norcon, that's quite a distance from Gwynedd. There aren't any prices on the website and delivery on top would be expensive I would imagine. I could pick up locally if I found a supplier.

    oak or oak stain?

Oak mdf sounds interesting. Not sure about local dealers though. The only place around here besides b&q is travis perkins. I don't have an account there but I do buy wood from there. They don't give prices on there website. Any idea about the price?

    oak or oak stain?

Hi all, our kitchen units are all oak. I am looking to make an open cabinet to fit into an alcove and want it to match. Oak would be the best material but, I havn't a clue where I would buy it as I havn't seen it anywhere I usually shop. And is it very expensive? Would a cheaper alternative...

    Planing?

Thanks again, I'm cutting much straighter and accurate lengths now. The clamped straight edge worked perfectly even when I cut an inch from a 2ft wide piece of ply. Interested in glueing smaller widths together to make one piece. I assume long clamps would be needed? And what type of glue would...

    Rubber roof repair?

Hi, would you guys recommend rubber repair paint to fix a couple of small leaks in a felt roof? I am planning to relay the whole roof with felt or similar in the spring. Is rubber repair paint any good?

    mitreing edges?

Hi all, the top of my bathroom cabinet I have just made obviously isn't square on top! I've tried to put pieces around the top edges for decoration. The mitered edges dpn't match !!! surprise surprise. I used a 45% angle on a measuring square. Is there a tip or method for cutting angled edges...

    Planing?

Hi again guys. Can I just return to this question. I've been using 8"x1" with this open fronted bathroom cabinet I'm putting together. I'm putting a couple together so thought I would use the circular saw to make cuts. My cuts are still a little wobbly and so edges that butt against each other...

    Planing?

Hi, I will be using a circular saw for cutting for my projects. A bathroom towel cabinet first. If you guys use a circular saw for long cuts do you make a general cut and then take it to the mark with a plane? The reason I ask is when using the saw the width of the cut itself is quite wide and...
