I've cut down a couple of newell base's and bored a hole ready for new newell posts ,but i need to know the best way to round the corners of the base .Is it best to use a file or surform ,or use a coping saw and then sand.

ive recently installed a fireplace ,I need to fill the void behind .I know there is a product that you use for this but cant remember what its called ,I think it begins with "V" .I've looked in BandQ ,wickes's ,no luck can anyone help?

can any one tell me how to determine roof pitch on a porch .Is it a case of what looks right, or is there a rule of thumb .The porch will be roughly 2000 x 2000 .door will be 2100 with a soldier course on top.
