Weight of flat roof per sq meter?

Well theory is of then a bit off! Stripped the flat roof today and thought this weighed a bit more than 5kg per sq m. SO got the bathroom scales out, weighed my self, then weighed me + as much as I could hold. Did this for all of the roof and it came out at 40Kg per sq m. :shock...

    Stainless chimney flue linner

Thanks very much Tom, so sound advice. You make good sense ref the 904/904, as I was only considering what was burning inside, not the effects of old deposits on the outside. I will look at the 7" and if it will either pass down through the steel section, or if I am going to have to break...

    Stainless chimney flue linner

That is conclusion I am coming to! Hence why now asking around. As I said I am doing some work up there, and it was more piece of mind. I have some scaffolding up for another job, so they said they will add on the chimney for £320+vat. Stand alone it would be about £1000, which compares to...

    Stainless chimney flue linner

316 is the cheapest, so they maximise their profit. They are not going to fit 904/904 for the same price as 313/316 I am asking if there are benfits for going for the 316/904

    Stainless chimney flue linner

Oh other thing I forgot to say was I have to HETAS engineers down to price the job, they both came in at about £1500, (so quite good they are both the same) They both listed on their quote 316/316 6" pipe!

    Stainless chimney flue linner

I don't know where you guys are all getting these expensive prices from, as every where I look they are all about the same price and 10+ years!!! 150mm (6”) is the minium required for soild fule stove burning as is also recommended by my stove manufactures. As for the liner been “cheap” it...

    Stainless chimney flue linner

Think this is the best section? Anyway, looking to get the chimney lined with a 6" stainless liner. We dont really use the fire that much, but as I have scaffolding up there for re-pointing the chimney it makes sense to get it done. I see there a different grades of stainless 316/316...

Mortaring in 1/2 round clay hip and ridge tiles

Thanks for confirming that. I did look at the dry fix system, but did not like the look of the finished results. Which is maybe a bit daft in a way as I have gone with GRP valley and GRP soaker, which both fitted really well and look great + price was a fraction of lead. TBH it is not...
