    Downlights in bathroom question again...

Notr sure without having another look but you could fit your finger in the gap. I could also feel some sort of metal bracket attached to the plasterboard and joist which i think is creating the gap. As i have two lights currently on the ceiling, should split the circuit up?

Please what should i do with my tiled floor

Hi Foxhole, Not sure how thick the chipboard floor is without pulling it up. The ply is approx 17mm, i have measured in situ and its pratically the same thickness as the T&G chipboard that is bonded on top. I agree it seems the wrong way round. What should i do?

Downlights fitted into this? Strange one and need some help

The duct is a common duct for the bathroom and hob extractor. The building was built 5 years ago (nothing to do with me) with NHBC certification which is worrying. I haven't had any problems with smells contaminating the bathroom though. Yes the duct is a solid plastic pipe - probably...

Downlights fitted into this? Strange one and need some help

The pipe is only carrying air from the the cooker/bathroom extractors. Surface mounts are an option but not really what I'm looking for. LED's are also an option but expensive and i already have LV downlights to use. I did think that 60mm clearance would be fine.

    another alcove shelf question

The reason i thought 2x2 was ok is because the length of the self is 150cm so the 2x2 would offer a little more support?

    another alcove shelf question

Hi, I will be using 2x2 for the side and rear supports (free material) and wondered what the best practice is for fixing into the walls. Should the screw head sit halfway into the 2x2 or just flush? appoligies for such a simple question but i want it to be correct. :D Thanks
