    No Hot Water

it'd check cylinder stat or MV (esp if 2 port) gas_man_gaz: why do you suggest header tank if gravity H/W? CH is also fed from this tank and it seems only HW is the fault?

Wireless room stat / receiver query

    Sludged up radiator

John has given you some good advice, but on replacing the radiator, use some PTFE (about 3-4 turns) on the old olives and smear some jointing compound over the PTFE tape (if you have any) - this will help make a good watertight seal on re-fitting. Also be careful, sometimes sludge can be...

Wireless room stat / receiver query

thanks for replying mrgas - my boiler is an old potterton flamingo II, o/v system - it currently has a switched L, N and E from it to the wiring centre. (which is the most common for older o/v system boilers i believe) If i were to replace my normal room stat for a wireless type, would...

    Floplast external air admittance valve

Just make sure the aav is installed on the stack HIGHER than the spillover level of the highest appliance (ie the basthroom basin) Didn't know external ones were now available! The older ones were only allowed to be installed indoors as the internal working parts would seize up outside...

    over flow problem

as seco services says - if you turn the boiler stat on the boiler down to 0 (off) and the boiler stays on (as long as the programmer is on for h/w or htg) then this will prove that the boiler stat is faulty (STUCK SHUT) and thus the temperature getting up to about 100 degrees C and pumping over...
