    Thermostat for panel heater

Thanks and meant to the model - apologies - heater is creda eph1250, manual is attached. Currently the heater is connected to a FCU. My thoughts- remove the wiring from the FCU. Run a cable from the receiver into the FCU to power the receiver. Wire the heater into the receiver - will a receiver...

    Thermostat for panel heater

Hi I have panel heaters (1250w creda) with a pilot wire. The control centre that utilised the pilot wire is no longer available. Can I connect the pilot wire to a receiver for a programmable room thermostat?

    Wall anchors

Thanks. I have tried something else apart from the screw but it just goes straight in all the way through and doesn’t hit any resistance. Will try again

    Wall anchors

Not really a disaster but not sure where else to post. I have removed a tv bracket fixed to a hollow wall with metal wall anchors. When I removed one screw it was very loose and felt like it wasn’t held in place like it should be. The anchor is also starting to come out of the wall. I want to...

    Scribing to fit square

Long story but I need to cut this pvc so it fits an angle towards the window. I want to know the best way to scribe it so that I can cut it to fit square against the wall both horizontally and vertically along the sloping edge. Thanks for any help you can give

    Removing a shower enclosure

I am resealing around the tray as well. House was new build and shower enclosure leaked - builders answer was to seal every area - inside and out which worked for a few years but now needs re doing so I thought I would try and do a proper job and start from the beginning again, hence removing...

    Removing a shower enclosure

Yes - there is a leak and the sealant is old and deteriorating. My reference to difficult was the original installation- glueing and screwing the wall channel which makes me hope that hasn’t been done

    Removing a shower enclosure

Thanks- that’s what I think as well and am worried that the wall channel has been glued as well as screwed in place but I think it would be difficult to do this

    Removing a shower enclosure

Thanks very much. Maybe (hopefully) I have just underestimated the power of the silicone along the bottom edge to hold it in place. If it was just the silicone along the bottom would you have expected some movement of the top two thirds of the wall channel? I suspect I mind end up resealing with...

    Removing a shower enclosure

Hi I am trying to remove a shower enclosure to reseal it. It has two uprights that are slid into two posts that are then secured by screws on the side into the wall. I have removed all of the screws that I can see and a lot of the sealant but it is still not budging- it feels like it is still...

    Heat pump pressure

Thanks very much, that’s helpful to know- it seems to have stabilised now.

    Heat pump pressure

Hi I have a heat pump installed when the house was built 7 years ago and serviced annually. Over the years I have noticed that this pressure gauge stays pretty stable. The last couple of days the pressure has dropped - to zero at lease twice and then regained pressure. Can anyone shed any light...

    Sealing shower tray

Hi About 6 years ago I moved into a new build house. When the shower started leaking I realised they had sealed after fitting the enclosure so hadn’t sealed behind the frame. I took it all off and sealed properly- all was fine. Now the sealent is mouldy and has started to fail so I will reseal...

    Washing machine blowing fuse

I have been visiting family away from home over Christmas but am back after New Year so will try then. I will post an update then and am very grateful for the advice. I think I will get a quote for fixing and go from there, with a view to replacing if uneconomical; although I could do without...

    Washing machine blowing fuse

I wonder if things can last longer - it is just people don't want them to and there aren't many tradesman that have the right skills because manufacturers encourage the 'replace not repair' culture. This has done well, moved three times but has had three sets of bushes, two door hinges and a...

    Washing machine blowing fuse

Thanks very much - that makes sense now - confirmation that there could be a fault right at the end of the washing cycle that is blowing the fuse. I will also try the other suggestions to see what happens. Not sure what I will do about it though as the machine is nearly 16 years old and given...

    Washing machine blowing fuse

Thanks, but what I am trying to get my head round is the fact that the machine completely finishes a wash normally. Is it possible for the machine to blow the fuse when it is not in use?
