hi my brotherinlaw has purchased two council garages with his property .he wants to have the center wall removed to allow more space the joists are 8X 2 which span the entire width 14 foot it is a ply wood and felt roof on the joists ,would this span be ok with the dividing wall removed...

the reason for doing it would be better to be safe than sorry if adds an extra layer of safety then why not as you say needs to be done properly thats why i came on here to make sure i get it right so would like a clear picture of what needs to be done to get the best result

hi just about to fit a new bathroom suite , there doesnt seem to be any bonding in there at present , but the gas pipe and water main are both bonded down stairs back to the consumer unit, do i need to earth bond in the bathroom and if so what is required does it go into...

hi just got a house which has patio doors fitted but no keys tried previous owner but they dont have any either so the door is only locked at night by the anti theft barrel at the back of the door , the doors open but with out the key i cant turn the cam to change the euro cylinder ...

thanks dont know if there was earth bonding as he made new copper pipe runs from water main and gas so to be clear do i bond the water main to the gas pipe then run it back to consumer unit as one continuos cable or do i do individual runs from each service back to consumer unit...

hi just had new boiler fitted and all kitchen plumbing updated but the gas engineer/plumber didnt rreplace the earth bonding , first question is should he have done this? second is whats required as i understand it. it is 10mm2 earth cable wich must be connected to the gas pipe on service...

itsapprox the same size as the pipe but looks like its rusted or caoted in the brown stufftried to avoid putting my hands inside LOL

thanks whats a good hole saw and what size would you use, the taps are standard bath taps no shower head and its a plastic bath do you still frame these with timber after its all fitted correctly?

hi just about to fit new bathroom suite with the P shaped bath and curved shower screen but there are no holes for the taps is this usual? any thing i should consider before i dill my own holes thanx anyone know the correct height of the bath so the side panel fits properly

one other thing there will be no room stat i would have to replace the existing rad valves for thermostatic as it would cost even more!!
