pc to dab via sd ok?

My digital radio has a function for saving radio programmes to SD card but sometimes I forget to save or I don't want to leave it on standby all day just to catch a 30 min prog. Is there anyway to record onto SD card from my computer (eg using BBc listen again features)? Then I can plug this...

    Windows Moviemaker

Also just occured to me - in the Moviemaker credits and title sequences I've used, the text is also blurrred and these are not imported but part of the editing suite?! Thanks for advice - still checking for ways around loss in quality. Steve

    Windows Moviemaker

Whoops now you've got me. As you can probably tell I'm a bit of a novice at this kind of thing. Basically I saved short movie clips and images taken on my digital camera. When I open my movie clips individually it views on Mediaplayer and I get a large crystal clear movie clip. The problem...

    Windows Moviemaker

Cheers for the advice will try what you suggest, although as I said in my first post -the clips can be viewed in mediaplayer fine but it is after using Movie maker that the images seem to deteriorate. Many thanks Steve

    Windows Moviemaker

Thanks for the reply NatB Couldn't improve on the resolution and having looked closely at my images on the Moviemaker preview pane I now realise that they are being blurred at this stage. It seems that high quality images are blurred at the moviemaking stage?

    Windows Moviemaker

Why do my crystal clear images (whether movie clips or still images) appear blurry when using Moviemaker? I can view my images and small clips fine and big on mediaplayer but once spliced together using Moviemaker they need to be shrunk to the size of a postage stamp to see on the very same...

    portable printer

Yes I'm the tutor - had this idea that all my worksheet resources stored on my laptop could be accessible to my outreach classes saving me endless planning ahead and wasted hours at the photocopier. Also I tend to take heavy folders of worksheets which it would be nice to phase out. I used to...

    portable printer

I need a portable printer for printing out worksheets for my classes. It needs to be lightweight/compact and not too slow at printing an A4 sheet and I do not necessarily need colour printing. Can anybody recommend a suitable printer? Thanks in advance. Steve

    ground source heat pump

Thanks for all the advice and the link. I haven't yet worked out the size but presumably a fairly small one as this is just an extension albeit around 30 square metres and not the whole ground floor. The pump will be powered by my green tariff electricity and should (according to quoted...

    ground source heat pump

I'm about to extend my house and I am interested in saving fuel (I'm out in the sticks and rely on very expensive oil) and was wondering about installing the pipework in my new floors for the later addition of a GSHP - I can't afford the whole system yet but obviously this would be the time to...

    heat pumps

I installed a DIY solar hot water system (my local council combined with a commercial solar hot water specialist - ran workshops and basic plumbing training plus all the components) for around £1500. The payback time is reducing as energy prices increase (I'm out in the country and my oil...

    undefloor heating

Yes but is underfloor heating significantly more expensive? I will be having a new boiler and obviously the new extension will have a new floor. My choice will be radiatiors on the walls or plastic pipework in the new floor or is the more to it than that?

    undefloor heating

Hi experts Having an extension built and was wondering what the cost implications would be to fitting underfloor heating instead of rads in the new area. It would have to work in combination with the rest of the house which has existing radiators. I am having a new boiler fitted. Your...

    emailing large files

Many thanks for your advice - the isp limit is a strange one as one of my friends has the same isp as me but I will check this out. Thanks again Steve

    emailing large files

Just sent a small video clip 10Mb as an attachment to various contacts and it was bounced back by all except a contact using Outlook Express. I checked with one of the web-based emails used (hotmail) and it has plenty of storage space - over 1 Gb so perhaps this is not the problem? In short...

washing machine engineer needed for motor rebirth

Got myself an old Hotpoint electric motor (ancient toploader) which I want to drive a belt and turn a drum in my homemade scratter (it pulps apples) to save all that handcranking. I need advice on the electrical connections. It has 5 wires - white, yellow, red, blue and a green earth. These...

    I'm zinc therefore I'm can

Any ideas on how to seal a zinc tank - 30cm cube (a garden planter which I'm converting to a water feature) which has a 12mm hole in the bottom. I have tried a rubber bung and plenty of bathroom sealant as a washer but I think because the tank is thin walled and flexible the seal is easily...

    power to the people

I'm currently drawing up plans for an extension and everyone keeps telling me that my priority should be to avoid moving the main powerline to the house as this will cost around £4000! Is this really so? The double cable arrives from a pole within my garden and connects to the wall...
