Excuse my ignorance. What is float and set? Basically it is a plaster board finish but i want to get it to the stage where i can paint on.

What is the going rate for a plasterer? Thinking in the not too distant future of having our loft conversion plastered. It has new plaster board fitted and it is a normal 3 bed semi. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I also need to heat the loft along with the rest of the house and new extension. I think i may just opt for a small combi just to run the loft.

Yep. Where the new brick butts up against the old. I'd say its about 10mm.

Not sure, its just where the new extension meets the existing house.

Hi, Just a quicky :D Is it ok to leave rolls of drytherm cavity wall insulation stored outside uncovered. They are in the original wrapping with a few nicks and tears. Its just they have been left out and i thought that they need to be kept dry? Thanks

Hi, Is it vital to have shuttering inside the dug foundations before the concrete is poured? The builders have done half the foundations with shuttering and filled with concrete and the other half they say they have enough concrete so they do not need to place Shutter boards on the sides...
