Hi,

Is it vital to have shuttering inside the dug foundations before the concrete is poured?
The builders have done half the foundations with shuttering and filled with concrete and the other half they say they have enough concrete so they do not need to place Shutter boards on the sides.

Is this ok?

Yes, it's fine.

Quite often you only shutter inside dug foundations where the walls are crumbly, soft or in danger of falling, or you've overdug and want to reduce the width, or there's a fiddly corner you can't do otherwise.
