Thanks for that. I want to take power from the loft somewhere as the power supply box will sit there. Where can I take power from? Can I simply tap into a lighting circuit which supplies the light in that room? It's going to be a remote control unit so switched on and off with that.

Are the strands visible in the ceiling when off? Also how did you work out how much to push them through from the loft until they are flush with the ceiling and how did you secure them in place?

Because he's being paid someone else to carry out the other jobs to a fixed price and not willing to take on any more jobs within that quote. Good job I didn't listen to the mrs then (as I ever go!), and simply buy a new kettle to stop the fishy smell. A new plug attached and plugged into a different wall socket and it's working fine. Just waiting to nip down to B&Q and pick up a new socket and check the wiring behind it too.

Forgive my ignorance but what are TRV's? The boiler was low on water recently which caused it to shut down but once I filled it up all was fine apart from that particular radiator not working.
