USB Wall Sockets - Can I Do it?

Mine is an MK one. I used a 47mm. 35mm may be OK, but it wasn't a big deal to fit the deeper one in thermalite

USB Wall Sockets - Can I Do it?

Also, be aware that a new double socket faceplate with usb might require a deeper back box. I recently fitted one in the kitchen and had to replace the 25mm box with a 47mm one.

    burying push fit radiator connections

Good evening all, This new radiator has been recently fitted with plastic pipe feed (to be buried in the wall), which is joined to a short length of copper pipe by a push fit connector. Now, whilst I have nothing against push fit, I just want to make sure that the wall is 'made good' in the...

    Air Brick

Oh, Ok. I was just replicating what was already there for the old extractor, just using bigger components. If I was to replace the air brick, what should I use instead, given that there's now a larger hole in the outside wall? Thanks.

    Air Brick

Thanks flameport, I'll sink the tabs into the wall so the air brick sits flush to the wall. I might also fit a cowl. We'll see if high winds cause any noise.

    Air Brick

Hi all, after some advice please... I've just fitted one of these (from TLC) to vent a kitchen extractor fan: As you can see, there are some 'tabs' on the side which enable the front grille to be removed. The question is, in oder to fit the vent flush to the wall, these tabs would be...

    kitchen led lighting

Hi again, I really like the Aurora fittings, but they were quite expensive. However, I found these in the clearance section. Would they be any good? auroraclearance.com/downlights/au-dl10314.html Many thanks, Anton

    kitchen led lighting

Joist centres are 400mm, so it will be surface mount, but you're right, its a lot of light. The room is 5m x 4m if that makes any difference

    kitchen led lighting

Hi all, We're refitting our kitchen at the moment and have all the ceilings down so now seems the right time to consider the room lighting. I've done the 'many little torches in the ceiling' in the past and don't want to go there again. I really like the large led panels and was after some...

    Jointless, white kitchen floor

Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. We're leaning towards large format ceramic tiles (450 x 900mm) With minimal grout line thickness. The boss is worried about marking/staining vinyl/resin.

    Jointless, white kitchen floor

Hi Ree, thanks for your reply. We currently have the old units in place, but could empty the room to fit the new floor. The floor is damp free and there is a membrane below. The finished level could be up to 20mm above the Concrete without issue. I realise vinyl is the easiest option, but want...

    Jointless, white kitchen floor

Good evening all, We're part way through our kitchen replacement project and are at the stage of deciding what floor covering to use. The old ceramic floor tiles have been removed, along with the adhesive (long job!) and we now have a smooth grey concrete floor about 5 x 4 metres. My wife...

    New Tv(s) installation - update

Further polite request for advice :-) Now that I have sky+ working, I'm tackling freeview. I've run shotgun cable to the kitchen tv, half of which is carrying the rf sky signal. I've hooked the other half to the roof aerial and I get an excellent freeview picture. Trouble is, both cables have...

    New Tv(s) installation - update

Update - All working perfectly now. I now have the following... Sky+ HD connected to PROLINK22 which is powered by a PROPSA125. The output from this then goes into a PROAMP104X from which both 'slave' TVs can be watched and controlled using magic eyes. I now also have the option of adding 2...
