    Leaking gutter...

Thank you. I have had limited success with replacement rubber seals. Do you have a link to silicone rubber? Is this just normal silicone or something more specialised?

    Leaking gutter...

Hello all. I live in a chalet Bungalow. The gutters are within easy reach of a small ladder. I have a leaking corner join - the gutters must be at least 10 (if not even 15-20) years old. I am not in a position to redo gutters and soffits quite yet. I have tried replacements however...

    Duravit Vanity Unit + Basin...

Hi all, will soon be refurbishing my bathroom and really like a vanity unit by Duravit however it is prohibitively expensive... but I just cannot settle for another one. Best I can find is about £930 including delivery. So now looking to source it at the best possible price... Item 1 - Happy...

    CT1 Sealant & Sealing Gutters

And as a follow up... I took the gutter apart, removed rubber seals and put in a thick bead of clear CT1 and re-made the gutter. Got my hose up to gutter and simulated a heavy down pour. No leaks. Sound product. Now only time will tell.

    CT1 Sealant & Sealing Gutters

Thanks for link. Checked it out and whilst product looks ok with £8.99 I may as well go for tried and trusted CT1.

    CT1 Sealant & Sealing Gutters

Thanks. Seems we are on same page as regards removing rubber seal and putting in the Joint itself. I was considering clear silicone - that way if I have to use on the outside it should be largely invisible.

    CT1 Sealant & Sealing Gutters

Hi all, I have brown gutters and have replaced a corner join. It's an old plastic guttering system and the corner piece I bought from B&Q fits however the seal does not make good contact all round especially at the trough of the gutter - hence a steady leak. I was thinking of using CT1 to...

Can I take a spur from this...

There has been no electrical inspection. The consumer unit was replaced in June 2014.

Can I take a spur from this...

I checked the consumer unit and it is protected by a Wylex NHXB32 MCB http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/residential-mcbs/7142126/ I spurred off with a 2.5mm cable.

I am shocked to hear the wiring may be this old.

Can I take a spur from this...

Not sure if its a "socket on a ring final circuit" or "radial circuit"? How would I go about confirming that?

Can I take a spur from this...

And assuming you have had no issues it seems that what I am planning to do shall be fine also. As regards age of wiring - no idea. It is the old colours so at least pre 2004 (possibly up to 2006 when the transition took place between colour changes for wiring). The house was built in 1938 but...

    External Render - Spot Repair...

Not sure what the beige render consists of. I would hazard a guess that it's just sand / cement combination. The structure is brick and cavity. It is a John Lawrence bungalow built in 1938. No idea what that black stuff is. Hence when I want to take it back to bare brick to see what's what...

    External Render - Spot Repair...

Hi all, I am looking to spot repair render at various locations around my home. Should I take the render back to bare brick and build up from there? Is there any good guides to do this? What is best product to do this? Where can it be bought? What tools are required? Many thanks for you...

    Clean Water Mark from Fabric...

Hi all, does anyone have an idea how to remove water stains from light coloured fabric? Caused by wet gloves and jackets etc being put on this stool :-( Is there a one stop product that will do it? Does it need professionally done? Any advice would be appreciated.

    LED House Number...

I have been down to cellar. I found an air brick below a window at ground level. Local to this air brick I can see the outside wall and inside wall and the cavity between. However there is what looks like polystyrene balls between the cavity. If they were not in the way it looks like I may be...
