    Connecting PC to Television Monitor.

My lcd television can accept signals of 1080 so by the sounds of it hdmi is the best (and only!) way to go. My graphics card does not have a dvi out connection, but I know the one you mean. The only problem I have is that there are not spare slots left on my pc and the current VGA connection...

    Connecting PC to Television Monitor.

Thanks Tim, After a bit of research I now realise there is not -yet- a lcd/plasma screen that can match a PC monitor for picture resolution. The usage is mainly for playing music etc. as I have a remote control for the built in Media Centre (which i have never used). Watching dvd's with...

    Connecting PC to Television Monitor.

Thanks that looks great! Although, I've already purchased a 'HDMI HDTV to VGA HD15 Y/Pb/Pr 3 RCA Adapter Cable' off ebay... I thought it might work better through the hdmi connection, for £5.99 I will try this one out first, but would that other more expensive cable produce better results?

Hi, I don't know what that is, is that the black circle with all the little holes in it? If so, yes. It does have a hdmi connection too.

    Connecting PC to Television Monitor.

My LCD TV does not have a VGA connection. Would it be possible (and not loose any picture resolution) to connect my PC to the TV with this? Thanks!

Hi, I am changing the face plates of all the switches in my kitchen. There are numerous, one for each appliance...Washing Machine, Hot Water Heater, Fridge etc. On the advice of the manufacturer I was told 20AMP switches would suit all appliances. Only now that I have taken the old ones off...

View laptop on TV by HDMI?

Hi, I do not have a serial port on my TV, only a HDMI connection. Firstly, do you get laptops these days with HDMI cable connections? ... and more importantly is it possible to connect a laptop to TV via HDMI cable and use the Television screen as a monitor like you can with a serial port...

    Fitting a Shower Rail

What do you want to fit a manky shower curtain for anyway that will collect mildew and mould growth within 6 months! Curtains are ghastly things. Make your life easier and fit a shower screen

    Leaking corner of bath

Perhaps you bought the cheapest silicone on the shelf? I used Everbuilds 'Forever White' years ago for the same job, which guarantees to stop black mould growth for 10 years and has certainly done that up until now and is pretty powerful silicone too. I think it was about £10 a tube

When I swapped over the hinges of my hotpoint fridge freezer to change the side that the door opened form left to right, I had to lay the appliance on its back to access the bottom hinge from the underside and then the top hinge just slipped out. HTH

Using 12V LED Lights with a transformer

Hello again, My lights have arrived today :P The only thing left to do is connect the lights to the end of the adaptor wire. There are two wires coming out of each light, if I were to chop off the computer connection piece of each and splice each together to end up with 1 (+) wire and...

Using 12V LED Lights with a transformer

Ok Thanks, the adaptor I mentioned is just one I had in the shed, it has a switch on the top to change the voltage output and has about 7 different settings, I take it from this that is where the un-regulated comes from? I will get for a dedicated 12V (regulated?) adaptor to use for the...

Using 12V LED Lights with a transformer

Hi briwire, Thanks for your reply. By that, do you mean the on/off switch and that everything else I mentioned seemed ok? I see the lights last continious use 22 years  so I will not bother with the on/off switch afterall and just leave them on all the time, for all the power...
