    The first floor bay will be supported by a rsj which will be going in after the roof has gone up along with a rsj across the back of house with 2 smaller pieces attaching them together to take the sides of they bay

    Yes the lower bay is been removed, we have all structural engineer reports, planning permission and are working through building control inspections as they come

    We are currently doing a rear extension all the way across the back of the house. We are putting on a pitched roof, I knocked off the render to see what was underneath to see what there is to fix too, picture attached. The soil pipe is in the process of been moved into the corner of the room...

    It most certainly is! I'm showing you where the wall plate will attach, as you see the bricks are going to be useless to attach to, which Is why I'm asking the best way to attach to the wooden supports of the bays

    Just about to put a pitched roof on the my extension, I am just a little unsure on the best way to fix the wall plate to these wooden supports? As fixing into the bricks is just not going to hold, Thanks in advance!

    Surely as there's been a new rcbo fitted and this doesn't trip there is no fault on the ligting circuit?

    If you recall what I actually wrote is that it was tested via a mcb to prove the the rcbo was faulty, when did I say that was the permanent fix? It was fixed by a replacement rcbo.

    As he's an eletrican. It was all safety tested with a certificate afterwards, so I know it's all good to the highest standard

    It's all done and sorted now, so just happy it all works and is fixed

    He had a spare mcb of 6a so he wired that into the spare slot in the board and it all worked, which pointed towards the faulty rcbo

    My friend came around who was an electrician and looked, the rcbo had gone faulty and needed to be replaced. He ran it from an mcb he had instead

    hi I have this evening moved my consumer from one wall to the next temporarily. But for some reason it won't work, don't suppose any one can see why it doesn't work anymore? Anyone have any ideas?

    Water main fitting, compression or solder?

    I would go to the road and turn it off, but if the pipe leaked it's a bigger ball ache to go to the road than just turn the tap inside the house with a lot more water going everywhere, how long does a soldered joint last?
