Knocking down a semi detached garage?

We have a single garage at the bottom of the garden which is practically falling down.

This garage is at the bottom of the garden attached to next doors garage, it has a pitched roof with the apex of the roof sitting on top of the party wall.

Do I need to serve any notice to knock my half down but retain the party wall in the middle as its needed for his structure?

Any help is appreciated
