Flat roof - EPDM over Celotex

OK, thanks for that. In that case is there a cheaper way to achieve the same level of insulation rather than TD4000?

Flat roof - EPDM over Celotex

What will cause it to look like a patchwork quilt? People attach EPDM directly onto 18mm ply (for example) all the time. What exactly is the problem with attaching the EPDM to 126mm rigid TD4000? It is true that the integrated surface is 5.5mm ply but you have 126mm of rigid board in total.

    kitchen in Annex

I haven't submitted my plans to building control yet. Do approved inspectors cost more than the council service?

Would you install the kitchen with the build or wait until the extension had been signed off?

    kitchen in Annex

Could I put 11mm OSB3 board on top of the celotex instead of the more expensive ply?? Anyone is welcome to reply :D

    kitchen in Annex

Could I get away with calling it a utility room if there is a gas hob there though? BTW would building control be concerned with whether we have a kitchen or not i.e. do they communicate with planning about this stuff?

    kitchen in Annex

Planning are clear that it's a "granny flat" but are keen that all food should be prepared in the main house. The plans already contain a bedroom and bathroom.

    kitchen in Annex

I have received planning permission for a side extension where we intend our elderly relative to live. The planning dep were not keen on a kitchen in the extension so we did not include it. Our relative does want a kitchen though so I wondered if we could build it in anyway or will that...

Flat roof - EPDM over Celotex

Or is there maybe a better/simpler/cheaper solution to creating a small insulated warm deck flat roof?

    Gas sub meter?

I am having a new gas central heating system installed. It will service the main house and "granny flat" annex. Is there any way to sub meter the gas used in the annex to produce reasonably accurate bills?
