I am having a new gas central heating system installed. It will service the main house and "granny flat" annex. Is there any way to sub meter the gas used in the annex to produce reasonably accurate bills?

If you mean one boiler serving the main house and annex, there is only one appliance so there is no simple way to calculate the actual demand by the Annex.

Or are you having two heating systems installed so separate supplies can be metered?

There's a simple way even if it is only one heating system.

No it's not a secret, but until you answered if it was one heating system or two, it would be pointless in talking to you about heat meters ;)

Well I would be very grateful if you would tell me about it.
