    Plinth Heater Pipe Size

Thanks guys, I appreciate your opinions, especially on a Sunday! As 15mm pipe leaves the manifold, and then Tees off two 2 upstairs single radiators, and then to the kitchen for this plinth heater and small towel rad, how does this effect things? Too many rads on the pipe? Or will we be OK if...

    Plinth Heater Pipe Size

That's what I read. But Plumber says its OK, and he cannot connect 15mm to our system (not sure why, upstairs Rads that he has Teed off are 15mm, the Manifold is fed by 22mm from the new combi). Although other posts on here suggest that 10mm is fine.

    Plinth Heater Pipe Size

Hi All, We are about to have a new kitchen, and in prep with some other plumbing work we asked our plumber to put in new pipes to the kitchen for a Plinth Heater and Small Towel Rail. I showed the plumber the tech specs for the plinth heater and he has seen the towel rail as we had already...

    Kitchen Worktop Pass

Hi All, I have had a few quotes for new kitchens, one designer told me they could not create a diagonal passage on the internal doorway to my kitchen like I have now (has no internal door) due to building regs requiring it to be 600mm? Others have been fine with replicating the same...

    Hot Water Tap Efficiency

Thanks EFL, Think you may be right. The fridge already filters water anway. As a side note though, I always believed tea should not be made with boiling water, or at least the water should only be boiled once as the oxygen is removed thus ruining the taste of the tea.

    Hot Water Tap Efficiency

Can get hold of one for a little cheaper than that. It was more easy living / gadget that appealed. Just wondered about running costs really compared to kettle / electric hob for heating water. I'm aware would need to save a few beer tokens to pay for the initial outlay.

    Hot Water Tap Efficiency

Also posted in appliances, but thought this is relevant here too. We are in the process of planning for a new kitchen. Seen one of these hot taps: http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/insinkerator-model-hc1100-6126-24741?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=GB&utm_campaign=GoogleBase Some people...

    Halogen bulbs keep going off

I wondered about asking this question. I have some 12v G4 lamps 10 and 20w in the kitchen and bathroom that need replacing every few weeks. I have some G9 230v in the study that have been in over a year, and some MR16s that have been in for about 4 years, neither have been replaced...

Thanks for the replies so far, was hoping for a simple solution at a good price. Soldering skills not bad actually, took an Electronics course a while ago.

    Timer

Hi All, I need a timer that switches 230v on every 10minutes for maybe about 5 seconds. This is for a special effect at a project I am involved in. Been through CPC website but can't seem to find anything, its just to switch a small load on (100watts I believe) on for a few seconds. Can...

    Remove RCD FCU

Hi, We had a new bath put in last year, with jacuzzi. As we didn't at the time have RCD protection at the consumer unit the electrician fitted an RCD FCU in the hall way to protect the bath. I believe it is a spur from the ring main. About 6 months ago we had the consumer unit replaced to...

    Replace Alarm System

Thanks for the replies guys. Can you recommend a supplier? Want to change the contacts on the windows whilst I'm at it as some are broken / missing. Also want new PIR's that preferably won't pick up our old dog (he doesn't climb on furniture etc). Cheers

    Replace Alarm System

Hi All, Looking at replacing our alarm system that was installed about 15 years ago, as it hasnt worked properly for a while. The house is cabled in 4 core alarm cable to downstairs window sensors, PIR sensors in 2 rooms and to the bell box. Much of the cabling isnt accessible without...

    Fixing Glass Shelves

Sorry Mr Mercury, appreciate the eBay link - that was what I was looking for, albeit it a little more expensive than expected. Was referring to the other poster mentioning that they were available in B&Q for 9.99, if he could provide a link. Very much appreciate your time :D Thanks!

    Fixing Glass Shelves

Can you supply a link to the B&Q ones? I can't find them anywhere on the site in the 30x30mm size, glass corner shelf. Thanks for the posted links on eBay, after the clamp type really. Cheers.

    Fixing Glass Shelves

Hi All, After getting 6 of these shelves for the living room: http://www.wickes.co.uk/glass-corner-shelf/invt/165086/ They don't come with fixings, and can't see anything suitable on the Wickes website. Seen a few bulk packages on eBay cheap, but they are only suitable for 6mm thickness...

    energy saving light bulbs

Why in summer is it called global warming, but in winter its "climate change?". Don't believe much of it is man made either. Infact, if I thought my 50w halogens were contributing to the demise of the polar bear I would install 10 more, nasty animals who eat their young.
