Timer

Hi All,

I need a timer that switches 230v on every 10minutes for maybe about 5 seconds. This is for a special effect at a project I am involved in.

Been through CPC website but can't seem to find anything, its just to switch a small load on (100watts I believe) on for a few seconds.

Can anyone suggest something, preferably can be mounted in a project box or similar that is adjustable on the front?

Hows your soldering skills? I'm sure someone could post a diagram of something that would work (providing the timing isn't overly critical)

Couple of options spring to mind:
1) use two timers - one for the off time period and the other for the on period.
2) use a simple programmable controller such as the Siemens Logo, Mitsubishi alpha.

You may have to change a couple of resistors and capacitor to extend the range to 10 minutes but this might do what you want

Thanks for the replies so far, was hoping for a simple solution at a good price.

Soldering skills not bad actually, took an Electronics course a while ago.
