You can get a single whole house pump to pump the hot taps. Be careful, if you have cold mains on feeds to mixer taps, shower valves, you'll need to get a negative head pump
My understanding of this post is that he is talking about the vent pipe. You MUST have the vent pipe still terminating over the cistern. I have come across diy pump connections before where they have failed to reconnect the vent - very scary
If in doubt get someone in who knows.
If I have...
Why on earth do customers expect goods supplied at cost? Most plumbers have spent a lot of money over a long period of time with merchants to get good discount and yet how many times do you hear a customer say "Oh, you could probably get better discount if you buy it for me", expecting the...
Hi
I've seen the thread on best boilers, but what is the general feeling about which are the best budget boilers (if there is such a thing?)
My local independent merchants keep banging on about Main combis being "great for the price"

Can't say I've been able to find one - certainly not made by potterton. Whether there's a generic one lurking about the net, I don't know.
It's ridiculous that they don't have them as spares and instead, tell me to buy a new fan assembly at £150!
Hi
Anyone know if I can get a spare fan impeller for a Potterton Suprima 60L?
I have one where one of the 5 blades has broken off and Potterton are telling me that I'll need a whole new assembly.
Any help, much appreciated.

I'm looking to buy a new one that I can just put my 3g sim into. Should I be looking at phones titled "sim free" or...
Yeah, the artex is going to be skimmed, but I'm guessing if we plastered up to the edge, it will crack from the heat.
Also, we've had a smoke test that passed - just need the chimney swept.
Hi
We have just had a gas fire taken out and want to use the fireplace as an open fire. We are also having all the artex in the room skimmed and were wondering how we can go about finishing off the fireplace.
As you can see from the pic, we have a timber mantel piece and original tiles as...
