    Help! - Air lock problems

I tried that already. I'm going there tomorrow - I'm going to open all taps then turn off pump at isolation, whilst they're running. hopefully this will rid any air in the hot pipework. See if it still continues to lock.

    Help! - Air lock problems

Hi I've found a real bugger of a job. I installed a new shower onto existing pipework from the old shower. The customer wanted a pump but didn't want me to redo all the pipework so that the shower had independent supplies so she decided on a Salamander RHP whole house pump. I installed...

Thanks for the reply, you mentioned "secondary stack" - there isn't any other stack on the house - not sure it that changes anything?

Soil Stack / vent pipe question

Hi I have a soil stack that doesn't have any Wcs teeing into it - looks like it is just venting the drains. The downstairs Wc goes straight under the floor and into the drain. Does anyone know if this stack can be teed into for an upstairs WC? Cheers, Graham

    Thermostatic mixer valve settings

Hi I want to change the factory settings of a mixer valve but am confused as to how to do this. It doesn't have a manufacturers ID on it so I can't look up the spec. I've changed many before where I've altered the setting with a allen key etc. but this valve seems to work using a spring...

CD opening and closing on own

Hi My DVD / CDW combi drive is opening and closing on its own, pretty much continuously. I searched the net and it seemed that I either had a virus or a hardware problem. I ran Norton and for the first time it wouldn't complete the scan - I had an error message. I assumed this indicated a...

    Noisy Water Mains

Hi I've been at a job where the owner was complaining about noisy water pipes. On seeing an overflow overflowing, I checked the storage tanks and noticed that the F&E float valve needed changing - so I changed that. Anyway, everything works fine all over the house except that there is still...

New WC required with "S" Trap outlet.

You can use a 90 pan connector but you'll probably not be able to get the WC back against the wall. If you can access the 4" you may be able to move it nearer the wall

    Cold distribution airlocks

No, there's no mixer on the bath or basin. One thing I didn't mention was that there are 2 tanks (this is a big house - actually there are 4 cwsc tanks but that's by the by). They have one tank that feeds the hot cylinder and the other feeds the cold distribution - the cold, however, has an...

    Cold distribution airlocks

Hi Just after some suggestions as to how to prevent a system airlocking again. They have an ensuite built a long way from the cold water storage - I'd say the distribution runs a good 20m in the loft space, horizontally (looks to be slightly falling) before dropping into the ensuite. They...

    2nd Vent pipe

Hi all Anyone come across houses with 2nd 4" soil stack that isn't being tee'd into and is just venting the drain?? The main stack has 2 WCs tee'ing in and vented - further along is a 2nd stack with nothing teeing in - just venting to atmosphere. I want to tee in downstairs WC (currently a...

One TRV to control 3 radiators - possible?

Are you sure the kitchen has been sized correctly? seems overkill to have 3 rads so close to each other.
