    3 way coupler leaking

Okay got to the bottom of my problems. The old but still good section of pipe I was connecting to using the tee was actually smaller, a smidgen over 21mm by my caliper. Hence the blasted tee continually leaking on one side no matter what I did. I falsely made the assumption that it couldn't...

    3 way coupler leaking

No joy :( Thanks for your suggestion Bosswhite, think I will give the copper olives a go. If that fails its a speedfit tee for me.

I see. I'm no expert so will give it a go, thanks.

    3 way coupler leaking

ptfe has got to go on the thread correct? About 10 turns? Many people suggest putting 5 turns around olives as well. Did find putting on the ptfe tape to be time consuming, any worthwhile alternatives?

    3 way coupler leaking

Okay I've unscrewed the coupler from the old pipe and the olive is nice and snug and I'd have trouble getting it off with my hand but it does move a bit though no way as loose as before. Going to give it a go and if no joy it sounds like the push fit coupler may be the way to go. Such a shame if...

    3 way coupler leaking

I've replaced a section of pipe which serves as a feed for the shower (hot water), the pipe and couplers were all corroded up from a leak. All went fine apart from when I was fitting the new 3 way coupler which is a 15mm on one side and 22mm straight thru. On the 22mm run side connecting to the...

Worcester Greenstar 24i Junior combi boiler resetting.

Thanks PBD, these budget Worcester boilers seem to be everywhere and for me I too have found them to be a bit on the temperamental side (a lot of properties I've lived in they've been fitted). I might have a go at redraining the system which will give me a chance to put in the inhibitor.

Just a general query regarding core drills

Don't use one often enough to even contemplate buying one.

Just a general query regarding core drills

National chain. In communication with the manager at the mo, out of the total cost of the hire of £58 for the day I was given £12 discount due to the wrong chuck key being supplied and a wonky extension piece for the diamond core. Not happy with this as kit obviously wasn't fit for purpose or...

Just a general query regarding core drills

Thanks for replying. Yes the extension piece did have a fair amount of play which didn't seem right to me. I did get the job done admittedly (not without issues) but renting out tools not fit for purpose really annoys me so will be chasing them up about this. I certainly won't be renting from...

Just a general query regarding core drills

Hired a core drill and encountered a few problems. When I got home the chuck key was from another drill and didn't fit proplerly and the shaft that fits between the core and the drill had a fair bit of play. Job has now been done as I didn't have time to be going back and forth trying to sort...

    inline fan in bathroom

If you type in wet room in google you will get the proper idea of what a wet room looks like. The traditional bathroom and modern 'wet room' are miles apart afaic. So your kitchen must be a wet room  :)

Simply clearing the condensation. And, NO its' not essentially a wet room  It's a traditional bathroom not a wet-room, completely, well almost different designs.

    inline fan in bathroom

New fan has arrived so hope to fit it over the coming week. As noted elsewhere in this thread keeping either a door or window open but not both open is more likely to create a balanced flow of air, will experiment. The mould problems we've had have not been major tbh, but have been confined to...

    inline fan in bathroom

Well I was actually going to use a reducer down to 100mm for the exterior wall outlet and use 150mm for the ceiling inlet (light fitted). Probably stick with flexible insulated 150mm ducting for convenience sake.

    inline fan in bathroom

Okay actually just came across this fan Aventa Fan AV150T which I thought would be a lot more expensive but having googled its seems the best option and is at a good price at various places. With the condensation trap you mentioned I wonder if this is necessary if the fan is allowed to...

    inline fan in bathroom

Thanks for replying. i) Yup, isolator in cupboard and a 2-gang switch for hallway controlling on/off and speed (always on high now). ii) Was actually thinking of changing to rigid & insulated ducting. iii) Will try just having one source of inflow to see if this helps iv) timer is...
