If you've got 30mm then can't see the problem with dot and dabbing it.

In my personal opinion I think your bein very paranoid. Just board it up with no gaps it'll be fine.

Thanks. Sorry I probably didn't explain properly, I'll be doin the job myself so just needed a rough guide of cost and size of rsj not to do the job.

You could always try using gyproc studs- you attach brackets to the wall and level up the studs then fix through the brackets so you can go as close to the wall or further away depending on thickness of insulation.

Does anyone know what sort of size rsj I would need for supporting a wall in an average size 3 bed semi? The length would be 2.3m. Also roughly what would this cost? Thanks in advance, Kev.
