    PIR swap

I decided to take fuses out anyway and check then with my multimeter just in case. Turns out one was blown, even with a strong magnifying glass it was hard to see I've ordered some off Amazon so hopefully all well tomorrow. Thanks for replies.

    PIR swap

I've swapped over to the new sensor but it's only reading 4v dc across the red and black wires now. The other sensors don't light up red when I work past them either. I've checked in panel and can't see any fuses that might have blown. No idea why it's not working at present.

    PIR swap

I've no idea, but everything has always worked as it should. Power cut with good battery no problems. Power cut with dead battery, external alarm sounds. Take fronts off any of the sensors or panel and tamper alarm sounds. Walk through test works as it should. And there's me thinking it was...

All 3 sensors show a red light when walking past. There's a keypad directly behind the wall from the panel. I have a multimeter.

    PIR swap

I'm looking to swap an old PIR that was in the house we bought years ago. I'm doing some decorating and the old PIR is looking tired. Taking the old PIR apart, there is 6 wires but nothing saying where/what they are connected to like the new PIR does. Can anyone shed some light on this for me...

    Matching border tiles

I'll just removed a broken cabinet from my daughter's bathroom wall. There were no tiles behind it. Up in the loft I've found matching normal tiles to finish the gap but only a couple of inches of border tile. I've tried the couple of tile shops around here but they can't help with matching...

    Part sloping tiled roof

Quick update... Cut dining room ceiling and can now access above both the dining room and the hall which is a bonus. No insulation whatsoever, no wonder it was cold at that side of rooms. Should be reasonable to get insulation in. The ceiling repair afterwards could be tricky as it's a stippled...

    Part sloping tiled roof

Thank you. Is that just loft type insulation I need, and will those side vents in the photo be sufficient?

    Part sloping tiled roof

If I did try to put insulation in ceiling from inside the dining room, what type insulation is recommended and is it just a case of laying on top of the plasterboard ceiling? Thanks

    Part sloping tiled roof

    Part sloping tiled roof

We have a part sloping tiled roof at the front of the house covering about a quarter of the downstairs dining room, hallway and garage. Its always been much cooler in the dining room than anywhere else in the house. I've just got one of those lazer temperature gauges and from inside the dining...

    Offset newel posts

Hi, I'm trying and failing to come up with anything that will replace my old 1980s balustrade, either spindles or maybe glass. The problem is the 70mm newel posts are offset 70mm to each other. Not offset enough for a return. Any thoughts appreciated thank you.
