Offset newel posts

Hi, I'm trying and failing to come up with anything that will replace my old 1980s balustrade, either spindles or maybe glass.
The problem is the 70mm newel posts are offset 70mm to each other. Not offset enough for a return.
Any thoughts appreciated thank you.

You definitely can't move the staircase post, leave it alone.
If it bothers you, you could replace and/or move the half post on the wall to line it up with the other, but then it will stick out of the wall.
I would keep the posts as they are and use bottom/top rail with spindles to join them.
Rails corners can be rounded to compensate for the offset.
