Aqualisa Classic Aquavalve 200 Thermostatic - Dripping

Hi - looking for some advice please. The valve has started dripping (from the valve itself rather than the shower head). The temperature control lever is cracked so was planning on replacing it thinking that it might solve the dripping. However looking at an exploded diagram for the cartridge...

    Boiler Shut-Down Problem

Thanks Picasso. I know what the 2 port valves are and how to check if they stick, but where would I find the microswitch and how can I tell if it's sticking? Thanks again.

    Boiler Shut-Down Problem

Ended up living with this problem all Winter but hoping to deal with it this year before the weather kicks in. Last year I could force the heating to shut off but clicking the temp down a degree on any of the stats. How can the boiler remain on even when the programmer is telling it to switch...

    BT Infinity Router

Thanks for this. To add a second wireless access point I would probably need to run cable up the exterior of the house unless I took up carpet and ran it up the stairs which I think might be a pain. Would I need any specific exterior-proof cable? Also would devices jump between the two access...

    BT Infinity Router

Hi - my BT HomeHub 5 just died and BT are sending me a new one. In the meantime, I have reverted back to my HomeHub 3 which requires me to use my old OpenReach modem too. This got me thinking - is there any reason why I shouldn't just continue to use my OpenReach modem and buy a new, more...

Hi there, sorry for the delayed reply. The problem for me was the sheer amount of leaves that was blocking the ducts around the window, so during heavy rain, the water would build up and overflow the edges of the windows causing leaks...hope that helps a bit.

    Boiler Shut-Down Problem

Yesterday evening, I turned down the temp on the wired stat downstairs. This morning the heating was programmed run from 6am-7am and it was still running at 8am. I turned down the temp on one of the upstairs wireless stats and the boiler shut-down so it doesn't seem to be an issue that's...

    Boiler Shut-Down Problem

Hi - I know it has the 2 port valves, but how can I tell if it has a bypass valve? Thank you.

    Boiler Shut-Down Problem

Hi - I'm hoping that someone can help me. I have a Vaillant Eco-Tech sealed system boiler which was installed in 2013. It runs both hot water and CH. There are three heating zones: one wired Honeywell DT90E thermostat and two wireless Honeywell DT92E thermostats. And a Honeywell programmer...

    Gas Consumption Problem

Thanks - I only have 2 digits after the decimal point. But yes, silly me, I'll check last year's bill to see if it was based on an estimated or actual reading. It might explain the discrepancy. Thanks again.

    Gas Consumption Problem

Dear all, I've had a shocking gas bill through today based on an actual meter reading. It's telling me that we consumed 12224kwh of gas from Jan-Jul, compared to to 1410kwh for the same period last year. We've had the same boiler (a Vaillant ecotec 630) installed in June 2013. Gas usage...

    Outdoor Extension Cable

Thanks again. Thing is I already have lights. I can definitely make sure that the cable is clipped to the fence and it won't be lying on a driveway so will avoid it being run over. Thanks for advice tip on the RCD-protection. Cheers

    Outdoor Extension Cable

Thanks all - the dribox looks good. Is it generally ok to run a normally outdoor extension temporarily into it? I can probably run it along a fence to keep it off the ground. Thanks again.

    Outdoor Extension Cable

Hi - I need to set-up some Christmas lights on a bush in my front garden. I have power in my garage and can run a cable under the door. However, I don't have enough cable length. Is there any reason why I couldn't use a single-socket outdoor extension like this -...

    Vaillant Boiler Question

Thanks for the replies. Yes, by control panel, I mean programmer. It does heat a hot water cylinder (not a combi). But the CH runs for longer than 5 mins after the programmer shuts down. I wondered if the wireless thermostat controller had failed and wasn't shutting down the boiler...

    Vaillant Boiler Question

Hi - I have a Vaillant EcoTec sealed system boiler. It was installed last year. I also have three CH zones all run by wireless thermostats, and finally a control panel. I have noticed that when the control panel shuts off the CH, the boiler still runs and the rads are still being warmed (I...

    Dripping Overflow Pipe

OK, thanks, I will get back up the loft. I think they are check valves - at least they have arrows on them like other check valves - here's a pic. Should water be spraying out the top of the valve like that? Or might it be damaged?

    Dripping Overflow Pipe

Hi – having checked, it seems that I already have check valves installed. I have been up to the loft and I have a question about my float valve. Normally water comes out from the valve at the bottom, however I noticed whilst fiddling with it today that sometimes water is spraying out of...
