Should I use lime mortar for these internal bricks

Thanks for you response! Are you suggesting to use a cement mortar because it's an internal wall, and thus doesn't really matter if lime is used?

Should I use lime mortar for these internal bricks

Hey guys, I've recently knocked all the blown plaster off our chimney breast and discovered a few loose bricks than need re-pointing, just wondering if you can tell from the picture what type of mortar I should use? I'm pretty sure it's lime, but if it is should I use lime or am I ok to use...

Secret door and skirting board, hinge question?

What did you end up doing with the skirting? The soss hinges look good, along with sugatsune. The only thing I can think of is to have a floor hinge, so the door pivots from a few cm's of the door frame.

Secret door and skirting board, hinge question?

I'm making a secret door in a stud wall. There will be skirting board running along the bottom of the wall and I'd like the skirting to be on the bottom of the door too, to make it look more hidden. The door will be opening inwards so the skirting will be pivoting on to itself. Is there any...

    Help my stairs are collapsing!

Thanks for the info. Yes that's exactly what I did, replaced it with 18mm pineboards, I couldn't find 1 -1/8 boards that weren't reclaimed and even then couldn't find 50m2 worth. Will those board be strong enough? The skirts have come off to relay at the the new height. I'll do what you...

    Help my stairs are collapsing!

Over xmas we discovered a lot of our suspended ground floor floorboards where rotten in our Victorian house, so we decided to replace them. We couldn't find the same depth of board so the whole floor is now 1cm lower than it was (there is a 1cm gap under the bottom stairs) Our stairs have brick...
