I have a 20m2 double skin brick garage with uneven stone paving on clay soil, I'm planning to remove the paving and replace with a flat concrete slab. The concrete will be premixed and poured as there is good access but I was hoping to do the prep and float myself. This is my intended process once paving is removed, please let me know if i've missed anything out:

Lay 4" loose stone, does I need to compact?
Lay vapour membrane, how do I finish the membrane at the bricks?
Pour 4" concrete and level with a 2x4.
Let it cure for 5 days, spraying with water for the first couple of days.

Do I need to use rebar?
Do I need to use expansion joints?
Is there anything I need to take in to consideration where the new concrete meets the old brick, for example do I need to make a form or am I okay just using the existing brick walls as the form?
