    Power to a Shed

@ban-all-sheds. Not saying you're wrong, but: 4. Dig up the ground (which may be solid) to run the new armored or surface mount it and have it look cack

    Power to a Shed

If I'm reading it correctly you have: CU --> T+E --> Timer --> T+E --> Junction box --> Armored --> Sockets I assume the armored is not terminated directly in the timer!? Can you not do: CU --> T+E --> Junction box --> Armored --> CU in boiler house --> socket/lighting/heating circuits Then...

    Is my shed replacement notifiable?

What if there already is one. I had my CU changed earlier this year, which included supplying the shed. They used an MCB in the house CU, feeding a CU in the shed, which then had 3 circuits: lights, internal sockets and external sockets. If I ever had to change my shed, could I carefully...

    Combi Boiler temperature dials

What's the 'best' temperature to set the temperature dials to, on the boiler itself? British Gas say this: If your boiler has two dials set the heating control at a high setting (80°C). We had our boiler installed last year and one thing I found during the winter is that the room stat will...

    MK Logic Plus

First, I wasn't sure if this was best placed in the Tools and Materials forum, so feel free to move if so. I love MK's Logic Plus range of accessories, but what is their justification for a massive uplift for a twin socket with USB ports. This is the cheapest I've found it...

    Saw blade diameter

Yeah I think it's relatively new to the UK. The magnesium base is supposedly lighter and stronger. It's no heavier than the Erbauer 190mm it's replacing, which to be fair was a great saw for my hobbyist projects, but I'm hoping the Makita will help me go up a notch.

    Saw blade diameter

I managed to find what I was looking for. I emailed Trend directly and they led me to the Craft Pro panel trimming blade (60t triple chip): http://www.trend-uk.com/en/UK/product/CSB_PT21060/4/289/craft_saw_blade_panel_trim_210mm_x_60_teeth_x_30mm_.html Ignore that price! Got it for £24. For...

    Saw blade diameter

Thanks. Can you confirm if any of them are Triple Chip, rather than Alternate Bevel etc., as I specifically asked for? Triple Chip is a speciality blade.

    Saw blade diameter

Hey, I recently got the Makita 5008MG 210mm circular saw, but am finding it nigh-on impossible to find blades for it (it came with a 16T blade). They all seem to be 200mm or less and 216mm or more. No 210mm: http://www.trend-uk.com/en/UK/productlist/4/280/panel_trimming_sawblades.html...

    Flow Reducer/Restrictor

But it would be a good indication? So say I have 10 l/m from my basin mixer tap, I can go for either 4 or 6 l/m regulator. If I get 15 l/m from the basin mixer tap 4 or 6 l/m would be 2 thirds reduction. Likewise if I'm only getting 6 l/m at the moment, I don't want a 6 l/m regulator!

    Flow Reducer/Restrictor

Is this really an accurate method: Measure the volume of the bucket or container Find a location along the stream that has a waterfall With a stopwatch, time how long it takes the waterfall to fill the bucket with water Record the time it takes to fill the bucket So if I fill a 1 litre...

    Flow Reducer/Restrictor

Just had a look at the location and I don't think I'll get these combo valves in there (H and C are close together and they're both next to the side of the vanity unit. Can you get these in regulator only variants (I can move the current isolators closer to the outlets).

    Flow Reducer/Restrictor

Is there anything I can do to get the right regulator cartridge? I know I need about 30-50% reduction but have no idea what flow rate that equates to.
  16. L

    Flow Reducer/Restrictor

Can I just check something: with the cartridge versions, do they ever need to be changed (the cartridge, that is)? I'm assuming no for the regulator only variants, and yes for the filter variants.

    Flow Reducer/Restrictor

No (I have tried), because it affects the shower, which I don't want. So ideally it would be point of use reducers, not whole house.

    Flow Reducer/Restrictor

Hey, I have a bathroom vanity that has a shallow sink. We have ridiculously good flow rate here (on both hot and cold) so when the tap is fully opened the force of the water causes it to rise up the sink and over. I've tried closing my isolators a bit, but the noise (presumably from the water...

    Loft Ladders

Hey, I don't have anything at the moment, bar a normal ladder I store in the shed. I would like to get a proper pull down ladder. The opening we have is 700x700mm (if I took all the trim off it might 720x720mm or thereabouts) and I'm really struggling to find a 'kit' to fit. They all...
