Hi I am putting up a vertical blind in the window recess in a bedroom , its top hung so i have drilled the 4 bracket spaces as instructed , using a 7mm masonary drill bit , the problem is , that the drill goes in normally for about half an inch , then punches through to a void , i am assuming...

I think they are redundant , in any case , long story short , plasterer is coming monday and we have been waiting weeks for him , so if i want this tied up , i need a sparky to come and look today or tomorrow i guess because its getting beyond me

If i do ask a sparky to fit a switch for me in the end , regardless of anything else , is an MK single gang single switch ok to use?

Im not sure on the question , sorry, but we only need/want one switch to control both wall lights Not much help , i know I`ll admit defeat and stump up for a sparky if i have to , but was hoping to be able to do it myself if at all possible , if you guys have the patience

Hi , yes , sorry , there was a switch on the wall the side of the bedside lights , this has been removed also , made safe etc

Hi When our bedroom is finished , we will only need a 1 way switch , which controls two wall lights , there was a 3 way which controlled some bed side lights , which are now removed , not sure what the 3rd switch controlled as from moving in , in never turned anything on How do i make safe...

i will be using a single MK plug socket chaps , o basically snip off the protruding core , then do it fresh 10mm of the 2 cores going into the socket ? there is more length than appears , its the angle of the picture

Thats what i thought John , if power points were at a premium then i would go with that advice , but we have a few in the room currently , one a double

The room has plenty of power sockets already to be honest , i dont think the room needs two there
