Need to do a small patch up job on some pebbledash that's blown. Question is how do I get the spar on the new render? Do I need a Harling trowel or is there some cheap gizmo I could knock up? Don't really have use for a Harling trowel. The patch job is approx 4m2.

I did ask the plumber/engineer if he is gas safe registered and he said he is. I didn't ask to see a certificate, perhaps I should have. Don't mean to offend any tradesmen, but there are tons of plumbers that also install and service boilers and are registered as gas safe engineers. I don't know...

Ok, so now I have just turned everything off again and this time ran the hot tap til all hot water gone. All pipes and cylinder now cool totouch, turned it all back on again and the boiler fired up more or less simultaneously. I set the temp on the cylinder stat to between 60 and 70deg. There...

here are some pics The little levers on top of the valves do not move at all when switching CH/HW off at the controller/programmer. Thought I'd include the pump in case its relevant
