    Spare RCD

My consumer unit came with a spare 40 amp module. Ive got no use for it at the moment so could I put a fused connector next to the consumer unit and run a permanent fixed lighting or power-spur from it? Would anyone in authority have an objection to this?

    Driveway construction

I need to put a track across a patch of land -I know different areas have different rules but at a guess would I need permission? It is from an existing vehicular gate from a minor unclassified road and would provide access to an existing barn. I would consider crushed brick or scalpings as a...

Checking on my mums system, the Oil tank had been filled up about a week to 10 days ago. Its a big cylindrical plastic tank and there was evidence of spillage from the filler area. Up on the ladder-I find the filler cap (4" diameter) was missing. I find it later down the side of the tank...

backup data locally and to the cloud

Microsoft have been wanting to put software applications like Office to 'cloud' it for years-they would "own" the softwre and you would 'rent' it. Total monopoly, total control and no nasty hacky people playing around with their activation devices and CD keys. For me the problem would be the...

M2N-SLI Deluxe - Will not post. PLEASE HELP!

I had a similar issue with a motherboard one time and almost binned it. Somehow by chance I tried it with a different CPU heatsink ,in the desparate hope that it was not up to the job. The board fired up, but not because it was overheating the cpu -it was that the old heatsink had a metal...
