    Learning Ricochet

thanks for your help again as always. Just to be clear, how can I tell from the keypad that commissioning mode has been completed?! when you say “go into engineer mode”, is that just putting my engineer code in? No menu I need to be in?

    Learning Ricochet

Thanks Chap, And does flicking the jumper into commissioning mode automatically kick this process off or do I need to do anything at the keypad?

    Learning Ricochet

Brilliant, thanks mate. I need to look at this Wintex software as it sounds like it’s the bees knees. I have a SmartCom (the latest one, think that’s what it’s called), can I connect via that?

    Learning Ricochet

Hi All, I want to add a new Ricochet device to my system (for the first time) but wanted to understand best practice from those in the know. Initially, I was going to mount the device, learn it in etc and job done. Now I've found that I should take the lid off, flick a jumper into commission...

and if I don’t have that, is my only option defaulting and resetting the whole panel and building it up from scratch again?

    Texecom PIR

Thanks for the responses, people like you make forums like this. It’s working now; just unsure what he did that I didn’t that’s all! Not convinced it was the battery as tamper always went off and LED was on. I guess I’ll take this one on the chin; I hate not knowing!

    Texecom PIR

But the tamper goes off once the lid is removed, and the LED flashed upon inserting the battery!?

    Texecom PIR

Just to follow up on this, the engineer came out and concluded that I hadn’t put the battery back in the PIR correctly. I disagreed and he tinkered about on the panel and got it working. He done the following at the panel; what does it mean? ZONE 013 Tamper REARM LOCK 013 ZONE 013 Restore...

    Asking installer for engineer code.

Thanks, was unsure if it’s known for installers to turn around and say NO! Out of interest and outside of London, what would the average cost be for a couple of wireless PIR to be installed and commissioned?

    Asking installer for engineer code.

Hello All. I had a Texecom system installed back end of last year and to date has been brilliant. I want to add a couple of new PIR’s to the system but require the engineer code which I do not have. It’s also not the default code. Not being from the industry, how do I approach this with my...

    Texecom PIR

Thanks for the help. I tried to walk test again and nothing still, it's as if everything else is fine but the sensor just isn't working! I have emailed Texecom support to see if they can assist. Out of interest, what is the going rate for a standard PIR to be added to my system?

    Texecom PIR

Thanks for your response, I have left the sensor in place overnight and will walk test later today with the hope that leaving it "still" for 12 hours gives it time to "reset". How would I check signal strength without the engineer code? Appreciate your support.

    Texecom PIR

Just to add, the sensor is listed as “secure” when checking the status?

    Texecom PIR

Hi All, After some Texecom support following on from moving a PIR. We’re having the builder take out a wall next week and attached to this wall was a PIR. I removed the screw, removed the cover and triggered the tamper which of course I turned off at the panel by entering my code. I then...
