Hello All.

I had a Texecom system installed back end of last year and to date has been brilliant.

I want to add a couple of new PIR’s to the system but require the engineer code which I do not have. It’s also not the default code.

Not being from the industry, how do I approach this with my installer as I guess it’s frowned upon. Completely understand the system guarantee would be out the window and if he needed to come out it would be at a cost.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As you have said ...any warranty or liability would cease on you gaining this at your expense , if it’s accessible via the smart com the cost should be lower than a visit , it may be cheaper to get the installer back to install the extra items

Thanks, was unsure if it’s known for installers to turn around and say NO!

Out of interest and outside of London, what would the average cost be for a couple of wireless PIR to be installed and commissioned?

They are not going to give you the engineer code, but should change it to default for a fee..phone them and make that enquiry
