Cooker hood bulb blew and tripped house circuit box . . . .

Hi, thanks for your reply. The bulb had been working fine for several months but now nothing seems to work at all and the on/off switch is stuck in on position. Do I need to call Zanussi or could a local electrician take a look at this?

Hi Folks, a bulb in our Zanussi cooker hood ZHC605 blew the other day and tripped the house circuit box at the same time. Now the cooker hood switch is stuck in the on position with no sign that it is alive. The bulb looks black and burnt at the base and I fear something more sinister has...

    The iron tripped the RCD this morning . . . . . .

Nope, flex appears to be in order. The flash was at the plug just as I was taking it out of the socket. Both socket and plug (the iron) appear to be working fine now.

    The iron tripped the RCD this morning . . . . . .

I had ironed a shirt for work this morning and went to unplug the iron when there was a flash at the socket and the house fuse box tripped. I assumed it would be the fuse (in the iron) but on further investigation I can find no problem, the iron appears to be working just fine. It scared...

Cleaning stone window ledge . . . how?

Hi, our windows all have bare stone window ledges/sills to the outside and some have become a bit green and grubby over the years. Don't want to blast them with a pressure washer so was wondering if anyone had any clues as to a more delicate approach to cleaning these? Hope you can help.

    Just re felted my shed roof but . . . . .

The clout nails I used are slightly too long (by 2-3mm) so they poke through the roof inside. Apart from not looking so great could it be a problem in future?

    Toilet runs on when flushed . . . .

If there is no syphon what might be the problem? It seems to be getting worse with a regular hiss every few minutes as if there is a gas cannister in there . . . . (I know there isn't). Thanks.

What's wrong with our Rosemary and Thyme ?

Much of the garden is shadowed by a large sycamore . . . . . I do wonder if the sap is a contributory factor to any mould/mildew?

What's wrong with our Rosemary and Thyme ?

The rosemary and thyme we grow in the garden is not as healthy as it should be with white/grey freckles all over the leaves. See pictures added. What is this and is there anything I can do about? Even the councils own street displays in our town with the same herbs look much more healthy than...
