Fiesta Zetec Heater Problem Following Accident?

Thank you for your replies. I'll let you know what the garage says. Someone else told me that the heat valve is a common fault with fiestas and that would cause the air to be cool. The coolant level seems ok, can't see any leaking, so may just be a coincidence. Amanda :)

Fiesta Zetec Heater Problem Following Accident?

Hi I hope someone can help me with the following please: Last Friday I was unfortunately involved in a car accident with a taxi. Some time after the event I realised that my heater had stopped blowing out hot air (even when the engine has been running quite some time.) The air doesn't seem...

3cm central ceiling sag over 8ft room noticeable?

Hello I posted recently about my lath and plaster ceiling and plasterboarding. I've now removed the plaster(but not the lath), and can see the joists. (As people warned really, really, dusty job) The joists in the middle of the ceiling are sagging along their length, this doesn't seem so...

    Dust masks/ respirators

Simwallplumbtiler - thank you very much for your detailed reply. Thats really useful, I looked on the 3m website but it wasn't as useful as the info you've provided. I bought a disposable one in the end because I needed to get on with a job, that was a P2 and had a valve. It was A LOT better...

    Dust masks/ respirators

Hello everyone, I've been reading about dust masks and the importance wearing proper ones for certain jobs. I've noticed now in DIY progs they are no longer using those disposable nuisance dust ones when cutting MDF, but I don't really understand the differences and I hoped someone could...

locating joists in lath and plaster ceiling

Hello I've been reading the archive posts about plasterboarding over old lath and plaster ceilings versus pulling them down and then plaster boarding. A chunk of ceiling in the bedroom has fallen down, approx 4'x3', caused I guess by steaming off the wall paper. The dust this chunk has...

would people recommend Numatic Henry Vacuum cleaners?

Thank you everyone for your replies. PTH- the yoghurts are not too out of date, only a week or so! Bet you didn't know about the half lettuce congealing at the bottom of the salad drawer though. Thank you PTH, Chris, breezer and janitor for your opinions and recommendations. I'm...

would people recommend Numatic Henry Vacuum cleaners?

LOL! Have you been round to my house when I've been out? Else how do you know about the mess in the cupboard. Funnily enough I saw an advert for Machine mart in the local free paper. Are the machines heavy though do you know? I know what you mean about flimsy bits of plastic. My cable...

would people recommend Numatic Henry Vacuum cleaners?

It seems that I'll need to buy a new vacuum cleaner. I like the idea of bagless, but have read a few read good reviews of Henry. I'd rather sacrifice baglessness for reliability. It would be mostly used on hard floors. I just wondered what people's opinions were on here regarding Henry. I...

    Advice on Window Companies

Hi Igorian Window companies are a nightmare. I remember when I had quotes a couple of years ago and one salesman really put the pressure on for me to sign that night, he stayed til about 10pm. I suppose he thought he could pressure me into it because i was living on my own at the time. Other...

    What to do now!

Hi The link below confirms its ok to plant in Sept/Oct. If I am correct in thinking that reeds are perennial, then yes, they may come back through. The glyphosate weed killer is only any good if it can touch the leaves, as its absorbed systemically. I believe there are other weed killers...

    What to do now!

Hi Legs Akimbo If you're not going for an organic solution I would use a glyphosate based weed killer to clear off any vegetation. This type of weed killer also kills the roots. Depending on the type of weed it may need more than one application. This is a data sheet about it...

    FITTING A CEILING ROSE

Hi Jon This is what I was told, bearing in mind my ceilings are lath and plaster and a bit bulgy in places: Fix a piece of wood between the two joists where the rose will sit. (You will have to lift the upstairs floor). Carefully drill four holes in the rose and countersink them - make...

I live in a road of terraced houses with very small front gardens, therefore if I'm working outside the house I usually get ... "You can come to do mine when you've finished" (Whatever it is I'm doing) I tried "OK, I charge £x per hour" But never had any takers. I wish I could think of...
