    Difficult to access monobloc nut

The 2 set monobloc spanners you are talking about I am using. The lenght is not the problem; it's pushing the spanner right up to meet the nut. It does reach, it's just I can only push it up so far due to the plastic joints. In other words, I need to straighten the spanner up by pushing aside -...

    Difficult to access monobloc nut

I did try and manipulate them slightly, probably not enough to slip it up. Anyway, thanks, I will try next weekend. Run out of time tonight. Cheers.

    Difficult to access monobloc nut

Cheers Andy, I did think about the deep socket set but I think I may have the same problem. There are 2 copper tails from the tap to the plastic joints so there doesn't appear to be much give at all to slip the socket spanner or monobloc spanner up to meet the nut. Tried all sorts spanners...

    Difficult to access monobloc nut

is there an easier way to remove the nut. monobloc spanners don't work because there is not enough room for the spanner to be pushed fully up to meet the nut. the problem is the protruding gargantuan plastic fittings.... Any solution would be great.

    Is it possible?

 Of course not. I am actually talking about the son of a qualified but retired electrician. But I found your implication hilarious. I suppose ultimately whats the difference between a portfolio of work - as pointed out above - and a signed off qualification. And dont forget although this...

    Is it possible?

A handyman with 5 years of electrical installation experience; and lets just say this handyman acquired his knowledge from "shadowing" a retired electrician; and at the same time absorbed the 17th edition; and also built up his portfolio; photographs, diagrams, drawings etc. When this handyman...

    Is it possible?

Interesting thought; but doesn't work! Joe bloggs can carry out ICS Electrical installation in less than a year and out he/she goes with a wagon and changing CU's and rewiring houses. 5 years doing electrics.... hmmm; i know who i'd choose am afraid....

    Is it possible?

...Is it possible for a "handyman" with say, 5 years experience and to be both experienced practically and be knowledgeable about the 17th edition; but i emphasize not a qualified electrician; to become registered with one of the schemes and be accepted?

A fused spur that goes where????

Right, got L+N in the load, which will - I think - be the extractor fan... and 2 x L+N's in the feed (in and out) What a mess behind both spurs, plaster nd all that. I'll get some new ones and replace them; screws rusting and all sorts...just aswell am tiling the kitchen..

A fused spur that goes where????

Bear wih me on this one. Back in 2001, we had a new boiler installed, and a radiator moved upstairs. Now next to the timer - for the central heating etc - there are 2 fused spurs. One for the boiler and timer, and the other I haven't got the foggiest. Now all those years have gone by with that...
