    Fridge Freezer overfreezing

Usual reasons for this are a) a faulty thermostat b) the seal around the door is not sealing and letting air in which condences and then freezes.

    Washing machine concrete block

Most if not all WM have these concrete blocks these days..They are used to damp the spin forces and stop the machine from shaking (along with proper adjustment of the feet). I've not come across one shearing off before... If the concrete itself has broken I'm not sure you can do anything about...

    How to drill?

Had a similar problem with my new bathroom tiles...I used a tile scribe to make an initial mark through the top glaze... I measured where I needed the hole then put masking tape on the tile (helps stop the drill bit zooming across the tile), then used the scribing tool to make a small guide...

Baxi Combi 105e - No hot water, but heating ok

Fitted one of these myself recently...kit is about £10 delivered. Your installation and comissioning manual (came withe the boiler) even tells you how to do it. Make sure you clean the pin which activates the diaphram as if this is sticking it can cause the same symptoms.

Get a NAS (to save you losing all your family pics etc)

An interesting topic... I simply have two 1tb external hard drives (about £60ish each) to which I take weekly Acronis (about £30ish) full backups. I rotate the external HDD's and keep one offsite (posh word for leaving it at my mother-in-laws) and never delete the images from my Camera /...

I had a similar problem with my 105e..turned out that the plate heat exchanger, about £35 and an easy diy project, had got pinholes in it and was letting in extra water. Also check that the loop tap is fully closed and not leaking.
