    ACER LAPTOP

Like most computers they sometimes get their knickers in a twist..it can usually be sorted out without having to get another...but it can take a bit of time. Try the restore then we can move on from there if it does not solve the problem. Best not to reply to people who try to wind you...

    ACER LAPTOP

The easiest way to transfer the files is to put them on a USB memory stick. You just plug this into the usb port and it looks like any other disk..just drag and drop. If you don't have one then you can either plug in an external Hard Disk Drive or copy them to a DVD.. Vista has built in software...

    ACER LAPTOP

The anti-virus software I mentioned is free, if you google for it you will have the option to download a free version. However my first port of call would be to do a system restore (you do not lose any data, pictures or anything else you have put on the laptop). Go to Start, programs...

Should also have mentioned that you can use 'restore points' to get you back to before the problem started..this only restores system files not your data files..they remains asis..

Should also have mention Ccleaner which tidies up for you, getting rid of files left behind when you have been on the internet and it can also tidy the registry if you so wish.

    ACER LAPTOP

difficult to diagnose without seeing it...but the noisy fan may be giving you a clue...if its coming on frequently it could be that some of the vents which the fan pulls the air through are blocked thus causing the laptop to overheat, if this is so it can show itself in many ways most usually...

    Dropped tile in shower tray..aghhhh

I'll go with the plaster.. Because I had left one edge of the tile (about 1/2" inch) without adhesive ( I was going to fit a chrome strip along the edge facing out into the bathroom) I was able to grip with my fingertips and lift myself up... As I mentioned the previous shower area...

    Dropped tile in shower tray..aghhhh

Thanks for your replies...we had a good laugh... on a more serious note the area I'm tiling on the ceiling is only about 3' square (roughly 10 tiles) I did this with the previous shower opening and once the adhesive has gone off its not a problem, unless you guys know better that is. (hmm one...

    Dropped tile in shower tray..aghhhh

I'm fitting a new bathroom which included a new floor, two new towel radiators, bath, wash hand basin, mirror door, spotlighting and extractor fan.... just finshed tiling around the shower base when I noticed a gouge (only word really) about 1/4" long in the shower tray... Just over the...

    PC fan keeps coming on

Assuming its a desktop... As far as I am aware adding extra memory should only increase temp by a small amount and if the slots are there and it can be upgraded the designers would have allowed for any extra heat. To add the extra memory you will have had to remove the side panels did you...

Boundary Fence issues can you help

Sounds like he is being very unreasonable..with an attitude like that I would be inclined to take the whole fence down.. and no he can't take legal action against you..except if the fence is dangerous and likely to cause injury..fixed by taking the fence down. Another issue you may want to...

Help! Engine cutting out! Mazda 6, 2.0 td, 2003

Just a thought! I had an older car (Metro) and the engine would just cut out...like yourself I would try to start it but it would not fire for the first 3/4 attempts. Again like yourself I thought fuel starvation, probably something in the filter which moves up the pipe then blocks the pipe...

Boundary Fence issues can you help

I suppose the short answer is yes he ought to pay towards the upkeep. However as there was no boundary in place when you moved in and, presumably your neighbour was happy to be without one then the question becomes a little more tricky. You could I suppose just remove the fence and take it back...

its most likely the cold water storage tank and either the float has sunk due to it filling with water or the valve on ther float are has stuck. you wiil either have to replace the ball ( as an interim measure get a peice of wood or similar which fits across the tank and tie the arm up so that...

    Garden furniter covers

I've not seen any covers which include covering the parasol. I have a similar setup and have to remove the top of the parasol before covering, its a screw fitting, very heavy like you say. However I have seen recently a separate parasol cover in Webbs of Wychbold (near Bromsgrove..they have a...

How good do the walls need to be before tiling?

Good question. I recently did the same thing in my bathroom, same issues some tiles came off easy others left great gobs of tile adhesive behind or holes. The problem is that if you do not remove all of the adhesive you can only tile level with the largest outcrop of leftover tile adhesive...
