What side should the obscure glass go...

I have had another (closer) look, and the obscure glass I have is textured inside the unit, the outside is slighlty textured (sort of wavy) this is what I could feel, but the fine detail is on the inside. So I am happy it's the correct way round in the unit itself. After reading the links...

What side should the obscure glass go...

 When I refered to inside or outside, I was refering to the inside or outside of the house. I didn't think of the textured surface being inside of the unit itself :? I have just read this: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=382794#382794 At the moment the obscure...

What side should the obscure glass go...

It looks a very simple job to remove the beading and turn the glass unit around. Is it as simple as it looks? The fitter is coming back to sort out another issue, so I would like him to sort out the obscure glass at the same time.

Hi All, I have just removed a shower cubicle from my bathroom (1960 property bathroom is over the integral garage). On removing the shower tray, I could see that sections of 2 joists had been removed in order to fit it. From memory (I'm at work at the moment) the joists are about 2" x 6"...

    Loft socket from immersion cct

Thanks for the reply :-) The existing box is flush, with the existing cable to it chased into the wall. I would like the new cable run from the existing backbox clipped to the surface really, it's out of sight anyway and the surrounding plaster is pretty poor (I don't wish disturb it too much...

    Loft socket from immersion cct

Hi All, I would like a socket in the loft. Since the hot water cylinder has been removed, the immersion circuit seems ideal because it is in a cupboard with easy acces for the cables into the loft (I will make sure that the MCB is the correct rating and label the CU etc.) My question is...

Replacing immersion heater flex outlet with socket

Hi, The cylinder was in the bedroom in an airing cupboard. It was on its own cct not on the ring. But the MCB is definately 32A. The cable looked like 2.5mm (from memory - I will have to check). Does it sound like the wrong MCB has been used? or could I have got the size of cable wrong -...

Replacing immersion heater flex outlet with socket

Hi All, We have removed our hot water cylinder (due to new boiler). I am left with nice size cupboard. The flex outlet for the old cylinder is still there. It is wired from the CU in 2.5mm t&e, protected by a 32A MCB. Any reason why I can't replace this with a single socket? Cheers...

Light switch on hinge side of door...

 That was quick! Breezer: The door opens out from the garage, the switch is inside the garage, so its not blocked. I keep looking at all the light switches I see, and they are all on the opening side, but my door doesn't open *into* the room with the switch, so I could reach it if...
